Herts Learning Network is a partnership of Hertfordshire colleges
and agencies, who are developing an ambitious project to widen
participation in learning. Part of the ADAPT (European Social
Fund) programme, it will support innovative strategies to modernise
companies and their workers' skills during industrial change.
The project is piloting locally the Government's Learning Flagship,
the University for Industry.
This
initiative is being supported by companies such as G Tech, FI
Group, NTL and others. 400 small companies have signed up for
IT training. The project has run 4 company-based courses and
is piloting the learning centre approach. The project will be
publicly launched in the winter this year.
